Psychopaths who are somehow able to channel their impulses to socially acceptable activities sometimes even rise to high levels in life such as becoming successful CEOs of companies.

To test their idea that psychopaths come in different forms, the study team evaluated over 1,300 juvenile offenders in Pennsylvania and Arizona. The results of the study run counter to the commonly held notion that psychopaths all end up as liabilities to society.

The study authors hope that these findings would be useful in developing strategies that could help psychopathic individuals identify their strengths and inhibit the antisocial impulses.
