According to the consortium, the new animation outlines the actions that governments, donors and the global health community need to take to protect pregnant women from malaria. They noted that in 2018, 11 million pregnant women were infected with malaria, and every year the disease contributes to an estimated 10,000 maternal deaths and 100,000 newborn deaths.
All hands must be on deck to protect pregnant women and their unborn babies from malaria.
