Cancer is a dreaded disease, and one of the most challenging aspects of treatment is the tendency of some cancer cells to become resistant to treatment by undergoing changes in genes that regulate tumor growth. One of such genes is APOBEC. Yes, APOBEC has a longer name but don't worry about that. The good news is that researchers are working on ways to prevent APOBEC genes from going haywire and causing resistance to treatment and cancer relapse. Let's wish them success in this important work
